Crate Training

Our puppies are trained to a crate. You can purchase a small crate for at WalMart or any pet store, the one with a removable tray. The pups can see through this and you can see your baby. We suggest you get a pack of puppy pads, a small pet bed that will fit inside the crate, some small pet toys and some food and water dishes.  Place the puppy pads down inside the kennel, then set your pet beds in and then your dishes. Your puppies will feel safe in this environment. It’s like your puppies have their own room! You can enjoy your puppies. Hold them, love them, play with them. When you need a break or have to run to the store, you can put your puppies in their rooms (crates). The puppies will eat and sleep in their rooms.

For are potty training, feed your puppies on a schedule. Take them out about 15 to 20 minutes after they eat and praise them highly when they go potty. Soon they will be able to hold their movements, not wanting to go potty where they eat and sleep, and you will have them potty trained. Any accidents will be kept in one area and not all over your house! Keeping your puppies trained to their kennels will be pleasant for both you and your puppies.

Please don’t keep your puppies in their kennels all day long for days at a time. This is just like laying a baby down for a nap or play time. The puppies can take naps in the kennel. If you change their
pads every day and spray down the area with an all natural cleaner, then your puppies will be clean and there will be no smell. In the above environment your puppies should get used to the kennel and not whine after the first few nights. It will feel like home. Also remember to groom, hold, play with and love them often, as this will help them feel at home.
